Barbecue
- Please leave the BBQ in the state you find it
Gas (Jacquette)
- Switch on the gas at the bottle and use the electronic ignition switch on the barbecue (there is a spare gas bottle in the garage). To switch on the gas at the bottle twist the small tap on the regulator so the red symbol is facing upward; then press the safety switch on the opposite side of the regulator
- There are Teflon mats in the storage boxes under the stairs
- Switch off the gas at the bottle when you’ve finished (twist small tap on the regulator so green symbol is facing up)
- Please leave the barbecue in the state you find it
- Please replace the cover and the bungee strap
- If the gas runs out the Twiny bottle can be replaced anywhere that sells Primagaz
Charcoal
- There is a portable barbecue in the laundry room
- Empty ashes and leave the barbecue as you found it
- Please return the barbecue to the laundry room when finished
Kamado (Jacquette)
- PLEASE DO NOT USE ANY KIND OF LIGHTERS OR LIGHTER FLUID IN THE KAMADO. Please use kindling to start it, or the electric starter in the log basket
- Close the vents completely when finished barbecuing
- Empty ashes and leave the Kamado as you find it
- Please replace the cover

Drinking Water
- The water is safe to drink but even after treatment with a water softener it is still very hard. If you are sensitive to this you may prefer to drink bottled water
- Please use bottled water in the coffee machine and kettle
Departure
- When leaving, switch the heating off using the control panel near the front door
- Return the gate and front door keys to the key box using the five digit key box code

Electricity
Power Cut
- Power cuts are unusual in this part of France
- There should be a torch on the shelf near the front door
- It is also possible that the power needs to be reset (unlikely). In the laundry on the ground floor turn right into the cellar. In the corner of the cellar you will see the main electricity distribution box. If the display says “PUISS DÉPASSÉE” then press the ‘+’ for a few seconds and the power should be restored
Fuses
- Philibert: If you need to access the fuse box it is behind the door between the sittingroom and the corridor
- Jacquette: If you need to access the fuse box it is in the technical room underneath the external steps
Heating and Cooling
Radiators and Underfloor Heating
- The electric radiators and underfloor heating are all controlled by the control panel near the front door in Jacquette and Philibert. Turn the dial to switch this on/off
- Radiator temperature is controlled at the radiator but on/off is controlled at the central controller. Please leave the radiators in central control mode (the square in the display on each radiator is under the ‘house symbol’)
Air Conditioning (Jacquette)
- There are heating/cooling air conditioning units in the master bedroom, sitting room and kitchen area. They are controlled with the separate remote controls
- Select on/off switch, mode and temperature
- PLEASE CLOSE DOORS AND WINDOWS if you are using the A/C
Wood Burning Stove (Jacquette)
- Please do not pile logs into the stove which would risk them falling out when the door is opened. Also make sure the burning logs are not up against the glass door; this can cause the glass to shatter
- Please do not operate with the door open
- Important: only open (to left) the right hand control to light the fire. Turn it closed (to right) once the fire is lit
- Use the left hand control to regulate the rate of burn
Open Fireplace (Philibert)
- Before using the fireplace open the steel baffle using the chain
- Please close the baffle after use
Hot Water
- The hot water should already be on.
- If it has not been switched on for some reason, the switches for the hot water tanks for each house are in the fuse panels. For Jacquette there are two switches and the fuse panel is in the technical room to the left of the steps. For Philibert there is one switch and the fuse panel is in the cellar to the right of the laundry room. The switches are clearly marked ‘Hot Water’. Both switches should be left on ‘1’ or ‘Auto’ (on ‘Auto’ the water is heated between 22:00 and 06:00, on ‘1’ the water is heated continuously until 06:00 when it will revert to ‘Auto’)
Ice / Freezer
- There is an ice dispenser in the fridge (Jacquette)
- There is also a freezer in the laundry room with icecubes
Keys
- Keys for other doors in the house are in the box near the front door
Kitchen Appliances
- NOTE: please do not leave the Le Creuset cookware to drain directly on the white work surface since it will leave a mark that is very difficult to remove
- Hob: switch it on and select the hob you want to control. Then select the desired heat setting (1-19). Switch off after use
- Oven: press on/off switch and rotate large knob to desired temperature, then press large knob to confirm temperature and start heating. Hold down on/off switch to turn the oven off after use
- Microwave (Jacquette): press on/off switch and rotate large knob to desired power, then press large knob to confirm power. Turn large knob to set timer and then press it again to confirm. Hold down on/off switch to turn off after use
- Coffee Maker: please only fill with bottled water
- Kettle: can be filled with tap or bottled water
- Dishwasher: touch the on/off switch then 90° plate setting. Tablets are under the sink and they go in the compartment inside the door. Close the door and the cycle will begin (ends after 90 minutes)
Laundry
- A washing machine and drying facilities are in the laundry (ground floor of Philibert)
- There are laundry capsules in the bottom drawer to the left of the washing machine
- After using the dryer, the water compartment (top left) needs emptying. If this compartment becomes full the dryer won’t work. Also you may get a message on the control panel to clean the filter or the condenser. The instructions for this are in the manual
Lighting
- Lamps in Jacquette sittingroom are remotely controlled. There is a small, white, five button controller near the front door. Each button (single press, double press or long press) controls a different group of lights
- The lighting in the courtyard is controlled by motion detectors. It can also be turned on by holding down the momentary switch by the front door in both houses for 5 seconds. The lights switch off after a minute
- There is a box of replacement bulbs in a cupboard in the laundry

Recycling and Emptying Bins
- The bin is in the technical room to the left of the steps to Jacquette
- Plastic bottles and containers, and cans can go in recycling
- The recycling goes in the yellow bin and all other waste in the green bin
- Glass, paper and cardboard should go to the recycling bins at the end of Rue du Pivot (turn right out of the house and it is about 80m on the left)
- The green and yellow bin should be put out on Sunday evening for collection early Monday morning
- The bins are put out to the right of the large doorway to the house immediately opposite the entrance to Philibert and Jacquette

TV and Naim Muso Sound System (Jacquette)
- Use either the remote control or the large round dial on the top of the sound system
- Select Radio. Keep pressing the radio button for the required preset station
